Blessing of the Fleet -Memorial Day Services

COMMODORE: We are pleased to welcome Father Ryan and Rabbi Eisenberg, who will assist us in our ceremony today.

PART 1- Blessing of the Fleet

•  As we embark on the 2026 boating season at Lakeside Yacht Club, let us gather to ask God’s blessing on our boats, our travels, and our endeavors.
• Rabbi Eisenberg says prayer.
• We invite Father Ryan to lead us in prayer.
• At this time, we will have the blessing of individual boats. A flower, signifying this blessing, will be thrown towards the transom of each boat, while prayers are said and music played. We invite each boater to return to their boat and accept this flower, signifying the blessing. Upon completion of this portion of the ceremony, please return to the deck for the dedication of the wreath and remembrance of our departed members.
• BLESSING OF INDIVIDUAL BOATS–LYC Bridge throws flowers; Clergy alternates SHORT prayers with bag piper music.
